RO: Expoziția “Your Hands Hold the Flowers, the Flowers Disappear” a Deliei A. Prodan are la bază o serie de lucrări realizate de artistă, care se concentrează pe povestea din urma unei fotografii. De multe ori nu ne gândim la reverberațiile unui moment capturat în timp, ci doar ne imaginăm povestea înainte de a se întâmpla, creând o poveste utopică pe care o atribuim propriei persoane. Pentru acest proiect, Delia lucrează cu arhive de familie între anii 1960 și 1990, unde, de obicei, în contextul căsătoriilor sau al relațiilor de orice fel, unul sau ambii indivizi au “dispărut”. În acest context folosim dispariția unei persoane drept decedată sau separată de partener. În acest fel, Delia conectează istoria personală cu practica sa artistică, experimentând crearea unei narațiuni complete pentru o poveste altfel uitată.
Practica Deliei A. Prodan (născută în 1997) se concentrează în jurul obiectelor și materialelor obișnuite, surprinse în momentele lor de ultimă fragilitate. De la bucăți de marmură și beton, la metal și cărămidă, lucrările Deliei dezvăluie o perspectivă nostalgică și empatică. Pentru ea, obiectele sunt vii: ele se învinețesc și crapă, spun povești. Simultan fotograf și sculptor, dar totodată niciuna dintre ele, ea lucrează adesea și cu text și carte, cu asocieri și istorii fracturate.

EN: The exhibition Your Hands Hold the Flowers, the Flowers Disappear by Delia A. Prodan is based on a series of works developed by the artist that focuses on the latter-story of a photograph. Oftentimes we don’t think of the reverberations of a moment captured in time, we just imagine the story before it happened, picturing a utopian story that we portray for ourselves. For this project, Delia works with family archives between the 1960s and 1990s where usually, in the context of marriages or relationships of any kind, one, or either both of the individuals “disappeared”. We are taking the disappearance of a person as either passed away or parted ways with the partner. In this way Delia connects the personal history with her artistic practice experimenting with creating a complete narrative for an otherwise forgotten story.
The practice of Delia A. Prodan (born 1997) is centered around ordinary objects and materials, bared in their moments of ultimate fragility. From pieces of marble and concrete, to metal and brick, Delia’s work reveals a nostalgic and empathic gaze. For her, objects are alive: they bruise, crack and tell stories. Simultaneously a photographer and sculptor at heart, but admittedly neither, she often also works with text and books, with associations and fractured histories.
